“I am so thrilled to have found a company that can lighten dark beams without any mess or fuss. The work that Mark has done has made a huge difference to our sitting room. Not only does the room look light and fresh, but our ceilings look two feet higher than they were!”

“We have always loved the beams in our house but were put off having them restored because of the mess and possible disruption to our lives. Mark has done a brilliant job and we are so pleased with the results. Our house seems so much lighter and brighter and we can now see all the lovely detail and character in the wood. There was absolutely no mess or disruption and in some rooms we didn’t even have to take down the curtains! Mark is a true professional who uses his background as an illustrator to provide an exceptional result. We would highly recommend him.”

“We are thrilled with the results of our beam restoration which has exceeded our expectations. The process has totally transformed our Grade II Listed barn conversion from being dark and old fashioned into a light, bright, very natural looking, refreshed living space. No-one can believe that the beams were not always that way as they look totally natural. There was no mess, no redecoration needed afterwards and we would thoroughly recommend Pillar to Post to anyone wanting to renovate their beams.”
Wendy Fitzgerald, Berkhamsted.

“We are delighted with the transformation of the beams in our 17th C. cottage, from black to natural, which has also lightened the room. And all with minimal disturbance.” George and Jo, Steyning. “I am delighted with the work that Pillar to Post have performed in my Lindfield home. The quality of the work is second to none and the transformation of the several rooms is amazing. Previously dark and rather oppressive, these rooms have become much lighter and brighter whilst still retaining their character.
Mark is an extremely conscientious, skilled worker and was most impressive. He was a delight to have around and was extremely neat and tidy. I would heartily recommend him.”

“Our house is a 17th century timber framed building, with old exposed oak beams in most rooms that had been painted a very dark brown. We wanted to get the appearance of the house back to the original untreated oak, but were put off having our beams sand blasted because of the disruption involved, and possible damage to delicate timbers. So we went with Pillar to Post as they offered a no-mess, non-invasive process. We had all the beams in our house treated and are really pleased with the results. Not only are the rooms brighter but all the character that was lost under thick coats of dark paint has been restored. What’s more, the finish that they used means there was no need for us to have the timbers stripped, varnished or stained, and there was no need to vacate the house or put up with messy dust extraction. We are very happy to endorse their approach, and recommend them for anyone facing a similar situation.” Dr Mike Burr. Oak Beam Restoration. Oak Beam Renovation. Oak Beam Cleaning. Oak Beam Stripping. “I would just like to thank you for the superb job you have done with a very complex room. The standard of work is fabulous and I can’t believe the “no mess” statement in your advert is completely true.” Zoe Smith, Boughton Monchelsea, Maidstone.
